This project involved arranging the 13 villas in such a way as to allow them all to enjoy views over the sea and towards Gibraltar. Each villa features a compact volume divided into a day area on the ground floor and a night area on the first floor. Strategic voids are left to create covered porches and orient the villa towards the best views.
The ground floor unit is more solid and stony in appearance, with robust forms rooted in the land. Instead of being an extension of the villa, the porch is excavated from the main volume. By contrast, the first floor is made up of white, recessed structures that vary in size depending on the number of bedrooms and rest lightly on the base.
This combination of a solid base structure and lightweight bedroom units lends a contemporary feel to the individual villas and to the complex as a whole.
